This American-made piano is one of the last hand-crafted consoles you will see. From the late 80s, the Walter family made these in northern Indiana, and added many unique touches that make this piano stand out. The Piano Guys has had a long relationship with the Walter family, and we still cooperate on long piano moves. Charles was known as a master piano designer for many years in other American companies, but finally decided that someone ought to preserve the very best in design techniques without compromising to save money, as most companies did. The bass strings are longer than other consoles, the bridge extends through more of the soundboard, and he designed more usable space on the soundboard, which results in a bigger, richer tone. There are design improvements to the action and also the finish, so this is a beautiful piece, which performs like a grand.
