This Chickering Special Edition White Parlor Grand was hand-made by the Baldwin company in 1996. It was lovingly kept in one family till now. The 5’7″ parlor grand was specially ordered with a glossy white finish, when Baldwin really wasn’t making those on their hand-made American grands. Jonas Chickering started a very successful piano business in the states in 1823. And the company progressed till it became one of only five brands to ever fill the White House (during the Lincoln years). When Baldwin bought them out in the 1980s, they kept the tradition of premium, hand-made pianos with a unique twist. The tone is warm and traditional American, and the touch is moderate and less deep than some grands. It’s a fun piano to play and a fine showpiece where white can be featured. Perfect for most Florida decor schemes! Won’t last!
